BFA THESIS 2025
The core concept of this project is centered around the idea of presence and mindfulness. It aims to capture moments of being fully in the here and now — moments where we step out of the rush of daily life and really experience the world around us. This project reflects both a personal journey and a larger conceptual exploration of the challenges and benefits of truly being present.
Untitled is a multi-media installation contained in a large cabinet showcasing three distinct moments of pure presence in our lives (The Womb, The Mindscape, and The End). It is a chronological exploration of points of memory, mindfulness, and permanence from the perspective of someone who was unable to experience such themes throughout their life. Though this project is personal to the artist, it is meant to inspire the viewers to regard their own presentness–allowing them to to sit and be still for a while.

This installation was made to hold place of peace, rest, and introspection for the viewer, hoping to hold attention for an extended period of time.

By using fabric to translate the different environments, i hope to evoke a soft, dream-like feeling upon first glance. Though the fabric isn’t realistically depicting the inspirations, the emotionality and recognisability is still present through the abstraction. The three-tiered nature of the cabinet presents a chronological, tryptic-esque readability.

This project can be enjoyed by a broad spectrum of people of various ages.
To be specific, the visual appearance of this project is meant to be very attractive to a younger audience. The soft nature is meant to draw people in, while the meaning and intricacies within the installation hold the attention of introspective adults looking to reflect on their own memories.
